On the other hand,it is not futile. i can tell you how many years I made statements here that were vigourously opposed,only for them to be now accepted and incorporated in the views of many on here .I say keep on doing what you doing Evan.the race is not for the swift,but those who can endure to th eend.995 of all failuers is not for the lack of trying,but dues to the lack of endurance.

believe me after over 50 years on planet earth i know my history

and personally i think more should have been done to maintain our culture but
similiar to today - blacks want to assimilate to the point - that they don't end up with what they should have - you're gonna let group after group come into your enviroment and not fight back

when i saw the first white person i would have been like "uh oh" not exchanging trinkets with them and letting them discover me [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

and my response to the slaveholders is to still be kicking and kicking quite well

seveen, we have the benefit of hindsight in terms of looking back on the situation, and had that been available to our ancestors, i suppose they, too, might have been more cautious in the face of being "discovered" (a loaded word - because at that time i'm sure the african people did not consider themselves lost).

african history is complex, and it varies from region to region. the history of conquering and being conquered is also a complex story, and how we interpret it reflects to a great extent whose telling of the story we choose to believe. nuff people (not necessarily referring to you, seveen) are burdened by a story of african/european new world slavery that paints black folks in a negative light.
