Ilp mi did tek some time off but mi starting again this week my first run will be August 25th. Was just doing alot of walking.

Sandi wish I could be there cheering you on you are way braver(is that a word) than me.

Went out last night. Did 5 miles on the road. Mostly flat. Showered and then went to bed.

Since yesterday my energy level has been extremely low. My tummy has been hurting, I feel lethargic, sleepy and physically sick to mi stomach. (Mi nuh gaawn up, doh that would be nice.) I made big mistake yesterday...did not ate breakfast...did not have lunch...the whole day the only thing that passed through my mouth was a cup of coffee and then yogurt. By late evening I felt bad. Tried training/workout and could not make it through.

Today I went bicycling...did a bunch of hill climbs, wasn't bad but still feeling ill to my stomach and totally wiped out. Wey mi fi do? Mi need a booster.

your triat is 6/23 no true? your hard days of training should be coming to an end. the week of the event should be single workout days and they should be EASY ones. You should be eating as well, in the carbo-loading sense. The night before the event should be spent eating and sleeping.

Not a bad week on the running front. Did an hour last Sunday (6 miles) then took the bike out for a spin and fell off trying to mount the pavement [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70361-embarassed.gif[/img] Managed to damage the gears too, so back to the bike shop and I'll get it back next Saturday.

Tuesday did speedwork with the club. At least, it was my definition of speed, [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img], but I could feel an improvement in my posture and stride. Thursday I did some hills with the club and it was a killer this week. I managed to do 3 good hills and 'died' on the last one. My breathing was very difficult so I need to work on that some more. Pilates on Friday and nuff walking today.

There was an ad in the papers for a duathlon and a triathlon in August/September. I immediately thought of SandiF and ILP [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_hug.gif[/img] and wondered if I had the nerve to do the duathlon as I don't swim. Then I realised I'm going to a concert that same evening so I'd have to pass [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70390-shhh.gif[/img] but I might apply to be a volunteer at the triathlon so I can see the fun/agony involved [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img]

Mrs O, what's the latest on your legs? I wear orthotics and am a severe over-pronator, so wear motion control shoes. Sometimes they have felt like I was wearing a brick but I guess they doing a job.

Went out last night after the sun started to go down...it was still way to hot. Mi felt like mi did drunk afta mi finish di 5 miles [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] Anyhow, mi gonna do it again tinite and see how mi feel.

Saturday is the big day. :dirty banana dance: I'm excited and nervous.
The burnt out feeling has passed. I started taking vitamins and that has helped. Still, still training but today I plan on going just easy and tomorrow kick up the gear, then Thursday and of course Friday, lay low. Saturday will start *very* early for me... wi nuh haffi dey deh 'bout 6:30am \0/ I have to be up by 4am.
Oh...I'm eyeing another triathlon for September.

Is who call me name??? OHhhh...Hey EG, hey runner people...good to see you all still hanging in there.

My inserts seem to have fixed the problem so far. Havent done anything distance wise though...but so far 3-3 1/2 milers and I seem to be ok in the knee pain dept. However my stamina is gone...its like starting over. AND THEN...last week I developed a terrible upper respiratory infection that had me in bed for a day and I am still coughing and short of breath so havent run in over a week. ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING LATELY!

But the mister and I did already register for the Seattle half marathon in November...its a special one for us. It was after that marathon in 2005 that he proposed to me. It was my first half and so it has a special meaning for us. SOOOO...I have to start training and the earlier the better.

Anyway good people....MIles and Smiles....go get some!!
