Personally I feel Jamaicans won't take the brunt or indeed much at all of the ill-feeling towards the bombers. I feel it's Muslims that will, and mainly Asian Muslims.
It has been widely reported that Germaine Lindsay came here at the age of 5 months, so most people will blame his conversion to Islam.

In case you are thinking Jamaicans will *start* being profiled it has been going already.

For some reason each time I go to Britain (where I was born, BTW) an immigration officer pulls me over to stir up the contents of my baggage and ask me impertinent questions.

I once asked what criteria is used to determine whom to search and the answer was, "I am not at liberty to give you our criteria." Things that make you go hmmm.

I've even had my stomach x-rayed at Charles de Gaulle airport to see if I was transporting drugs in my abdomen. The only other people I saw getting this treatment were some scruffy looking backpackers just out of high school.

As for the Muslim aspect of this affair, let's not forget Muhammed Ali and Malcolm X.

Yeah I know....I don't even bother travelling via the US if I can help it. I used to travel to Asia via LA. Last time I did that (pre- 9/11) I went through customs and immigration just fine. Then, a Black guy stopped me as I was exiting and asked me a TON of questions about the foot massager that I had purchased in Asia.

Last time I went to India, same thing happened. A guy stopped me and asked me a TON of questions AFTER I had cleared immigration and customs.

When I returned to Canada, not my last trip the one before. I was asked what kind of work do you do why you are always travelling to these places Singapore, Bombay, Malaysia, Dubai, Thailand, etc.

Thank GOD I have a new passport.

When I accompanied my friend American, blonde and female to the US for a shopping trip last year. SHE was asked where she lived and not asked to produce ANY ID. I was asked where I was BORN. When I said Kingston, Jamaica, I was GRILLED!!! Just GRILLED. I was thinking of taking my kid to Darrien Lake for some fun...guess I had better just forget it.

Not your fault Tropicanna. You come from Jamaica and Jamaicans have in the past profiled themselves as being loud and vulgar.
I have seen their behaviour on Air Canada. The men aged 18-40. Arrogant! Suggestive! Impertinent!
Disregarding rules and regulatons.
The one or two who do that on one aeroplane causes the rest of us to suffer a profiling.
How some behave in a shopping mall, in the trains and buses at school in the apartments is embarassing too.
Sure the Italians do it, The greeks too, even the Poles. But somehow, Jamaicans know how to over do it.
Mind you, the 99.9% of Jamaicans silently live like decent human beings, quiet never disturb their neighbours, dont make nusiances of themselves on the plane.
But one loose Jamaican, God help us. Worst that 20 loose Chinamen.

You have a point....this includes respecting ALL nations including America!! Funny enuff, "America" is made up of people from each and every ethnicity and nationality, I wonder if those who don't respect "America" selectively choose which group to exempt from this "hating/disrespect." Oh yes, oh how quickly "we" forget...the delays at Kennedy because the dogs are sniffing our luggage "upstairs;" the ugliness of dogs sniffing our feet at the carousel while we wait on our luggage...I forgot, oh dear!!

Thing is, it hasn't happened in a while, in fact last year when I traveled, there were no dogs sniffing at JFK. Guess they got more sophisticated..no not the dogs.

Point is Black Star, maybe they will come up with a newer "subtle" way of profiling us. That poor "Jamaican" chap who allegedly was a part of the group needs sympathy; probably he just didn't "have a mind of his own."
