If you "wait" for this and "wait" for that there will always be a more attractive figure out there to "wait" for, factor in the inflation rate while you are WAITING, and you are almost back to square zero anyway.

When I retired my counselor explained to me that once you take out the factors involved in GOING TO WORK 5 days out of the week, factor in my 3% raise every year (working teachers only get 2% GO FIGURE), I will be right back at my normal pay in two more years AT THE HOUSE.

You will <span style="font-size: 20pt">Never get RICH, AHEAD, BE "ALRIGHT", or whatever this dream is you have tied up in your head, working ANY normal wage earning job in AMerica. </span>

Didn't Farrah, Michael,Walter, the Oxy Clean man, show you anything recently.....now you are much younger than myself, and no doubt you do need to work a little longer, but these plans of being damn near 70 before you start to really enjoy your life drive me to distraction!!!!!!!!!!!! </div></div>

Marilyn, you are RIGHT ON!

I had the 55 plan...to walk away from my job at that time. And Jamaica was part of that plan. I didn't think for a second that the gravy train was gonna happen and that I was going to live any kind of cushy lifestyle, just that I was going to LIVE, period. There would be some years in between retirement kicking in and all the extra's but life is for the living, as they say and I wanted to LIVE! Not just exist with a dream to live....

Well, as it turned out, you know what they say about "best laid plans"! Only HE knows what's in store for us. We can plan all we want but it means NOTHING! I retired early alright, but I didn't make it to 55 and I haven't been to yard for 6 years. In my case, I was lucky I had a chance to start over. Pull myself up from my bootstraps and put my cowgirl pants on and get back on track but I was one of the lucky ones. Luckily, I had something to fall back on and it's gonna be OK again.

The morrow of the story....

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

we are working toward getting me outta here and living a yard by 62/63(ish) ... and I expect to just keep a mini space for myself here. He is putting our quaint living space in order - is preparing a plan for a little sumthing sumthing regarding work for himself for supplimental $$ ~

and it all does just come out in the wash at the end of the day ~

I have only ONE word to describe the Blues Festival yesterday!

58 degrees and icy winds coming off the big pond. One freind put socks on her hands and I was kicking myself for not having mittens.

Today I'm packing my long underwear, a winter hat, AND mittens! Sill had fun though, till the after dinner hours...then I bailed cause i couldn't take it no more!

Marnin QK! Crazy huh! And today and tomorrow MIGHT be similar. it depends on the winds. There is a jet stream right above us, where it could very well be 40 degrees warmer down by Laurel & Wandabe. I got home last night and it was 73 here, but only 56 in Duluth, just 20 minutes away!

Do I have to say that this brings some wicked storms? Yep it did and the fur kids spent the night frightened.

Sometimes you get that by the ocean as well. Only the biggest difference is usually about 5 miles inland which is also a higher elevation, but hotter in summer and colder in winter.
Closer to the ocean here in winter is usually a likkle warmer cos the Gulfstream is pretty close to shore in this area. Warmer water, warmer air...

Anyway, I'm off to hang poolside, gonna be 80ish and sunny here today.

Had a good time at Sisters, Oregon, but also worked my fanny off with quilting stuff. Cut out a lot of quilt pieces for my next try at doing Hero Quilts. They used to need 50 quilts a month, now it's up to 150 quilts a month. More service personnel are getting hurt in Iraq and Afghanistan and being shipped closer to home for recuperation or ??. So I have decided to make several quilt kits and take them with me to Negril. I have a sewing machine there and I can assemble them, returning the finished product next April.

They are also making potholders and shopping bags for resale so they can buy batting, backings and big pieces of material. I cleaned out all the scraps they had in the cubby hole, leaving the big pieces for the other sewers to use. So I bought 10 potholders for gifts and one bag for myself.

When yuh deh a yaad, do you take your machine out and quilt pan di veranda? That is an incredible spot to be inspired.
And speakin of verandas, did you get the likkle dining veranda finished?

Awesome day with the little man today. He gets funnier every time I take him out. My brother has a HUGE beach ball. The highlight of Jake's day was my sister bouncing it off of his head, his face, his butt, his belly...

And no matter what we sing he tries to sing along. It's funny nah hell and he's happy as a clam to be singin along!!
