Evelin QK and everyone! QK you make me laugh about the skeeters! There is no skeeters down there to speak of, rain or cold or heat. I hadn't really thought of it until you mentioned it though and for that I am thankful!

See, it's the word <span style="font-style: italic">lake</span> that has you fooled. Ok, so do you have mosquitoes at the seashore? This is a freshwater sea...not really a lake so to speak!

See, even mosquitos are afraid of the freshwater sea...

Ok, so now at the lake lake? you can't open your mouth at night sometimes! They call mosquitoes the Minnesota state bird! That's one of the things I don't miss about lake living. That, and having to have neighbors.

Mawnin everyone! Lawd talk about skeeeters.....Dottie is scratching like crazy. She kept me up half the night. She is getting her bath this afternoon and getting the advantage. Down by the lake here they will eat your backside as will red bugs too. It's like being in the tropics.

Skeeters...
Yes, we have skeeters at the seashore. Fi wi Mossquittos nah fraid a no dyam hocean! They obviously don't breed there, but they certainly feed there. (poetic eeeh?) All they need is a puddle.
A few weeks ago when I took Jake to Truro, we were right on the beach, on a bluff about 40 feet up, just getting to the car from the house after sunset was a battle with those likkle bastards!!
Even right ON the beach in the evening they find you!!
Dem muss know bout all the tourists!

In Salt lake city, near the salt lake the mosquitos were horrid! A few miles away there were none to speak of.

Bugs that make you itch are the bane of my existence.

Anyway, Mawnin peeps!! A steamer here this morning, the air is heavy an still. I have 2 fans going in my bedroom, so I sleep great. The rest of the place is sticky icky!
Still wouldn't trade it for winter!

So you have skeeters by the seaside? holy cow, er...I mean skeeter!

I hate them so don't miss them at all over here. Now and then I will hear the night overhead buzzing of one and then I only know two things...it'll be keeping me awake, and that eventually I'm lunch.

It's gonna be a sizzler here too today and most of the week. Maybe today I'll go for a scooter ride! Now there's a concept, take the afternoon off and play!

Well, we've had BIG rain for the last 3 hours, now finally the sun looks like it's breaking through the clouds.

I made a dash into town this morning and paid Miss M a brief visit, while she was bathing in the sea. Just she and her friend, the entire beach to themselves. Paradise? Possibly.

Hopefully the rain is done for the day. Luciano is playing up the street tonight and do you remember when I posted the pictures of my favorite neighbor who raises turkeys? Well Luci is staying at his place for a couple of days with his friends. I made a point to say, that if they were having visitors, to call me. I met Luci several times, but always respect a mans privacy.

So, Negril is nice and green, give thanks for all the rain.

Great to hear about the rain Leanne! I know it is much needed. I'm waiting on some beads to come out of the kiln that I made to go with some abalone and a spiral. Another fair piece! I might as well go for it and enter a few.

So it's in the 80's and humid and I'm sittin here in the air conditioning looking over the pics that dh sent me from Hong Kong this morning. I've been pouring over my lonely planet website pages looking over China stuff too in anticipation of an upcoming trip maybe as early as next Spring.

And you all know me, I'm not much of a city slicker and I'll wander this street for a day for the hell of it but I'm salivating traveling around the countryside more.



And then the part about stopping in Hawaii on the way back is pretty exciting too.
