I rarely chat about who is on my ignore list. I did tell our resident warlock that I had taken him off as he had information I needed (I saw he kept posting after just about every question I asked). When I took him off temporarily I saw he has answer and all the information I needed. I said if you behave I will keep you off ignore and he immediately started acting up.
Other than that....and this thread that YOU started when I have discussed who is on my ignore list.


But I can't see what they are posting so they are kind of wasting their time. Are they really that bored? I am not thin skinned BTW but if someone says something vulgar as one of the mods has done a number of times, I have 0 tolerance for that.

Remember, YOU are the one who started this discussion, for what purpose, I don't know.

second ting: i stand by my car accident analogy. an unintended consequence of cars is that they can be used to mash people. the misuse of a technology is not inherently the technology's fault, nor the fault of the creator of the technology, nor of the person offering the technology.

the ignore feature has been on this board for a long time without issue. a number of people have said they used it just because they wanted to be able to participate in discussion without their blood pressure going up from the postings of a particular person. that is perhaps the best way i see the ignore feature being used - to facilitate a board member's participation in a discussion. i think that is an intended consequence, and that has been the practice to date.

i think the current scenario we're discussing is a completely different ball game, and i think you hit the nail on the head with the use of the term malice.

I rarely chat about it. If someone is being obnoxious I will ask them to stop or I will put them on my ignore list. It would be rude to just cut them off in mid-sentence though I have done that on occasion.

I am only aware of one person who told me to put them on it. Our resident warlock was on it. He was temporarily removed but started acting up again so I put him back on it. I am not aware of anyone else asking to be put on it. Perhaps they are already on it and I am not seeing their requests.
