one thing i can say for sure though;
the europeans have been extremely fascinated by ancient egypt. so much so they never miss an opportunity to dress up in ancient egyptian garb for movie & tv dramatizations; they put pyramids on their money and casinos, etc.
i saw a program yesterday where some of them were claiming that ancient egypt might have been ruled by people from the 'lost continent of atlantis' or possibly aliens came from outer space to build egypt
yet it is us who are accused of too much obsession with egypt.
<span style="font-weight: bold">they would be outraged if we claimed that ancient greece </span>& rome were african civilizations and used black actors to portray greeks & romans in movies and network tv programs;

There was a book called the Black Athenians, forgot the name of the author? Academia went mad, and it was written by a white man </div></div>
i always wanted to read that book...
to be fair the ancient greeks & romans were not racists like the modern day scientists...ancient greek historian herodotus freely recorded that the egyptians were blacks and the greeks studied in african universities...rome even had a black emperor (dem naaguh teach yu dat);
fascinating quote from french historian & philosopher volney:
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
"When I visited the Sphinx, I could not help thinking that the figure of that monster furnished the true solution to the enigma (of how the modern Egyptians came to have their Ômulatto' appearance)
(<span style="font-weight: bold">It's features) were those of the negro.. (the Egyptians therefore must have been) real negroes, of the same species of the natives of Africa.
...How are we astonished when we reflect that to the race of negroes, at present our slaves, and the objects of our extreme contempt, we owe our arts, sciences, and even the very use of speech; and when we recollect that in the midst of those nations who call themselves the friends of liberty and humanity, the most barbarous of slaveries is justified, and that it is even a problem whether the understanding of negroes be of the same species with that of white men!"
In other words the ancient Egyptians were true Negroes of the same stock as all the autochthonous peoples of Africa and from the datum one sees how their race, after some centuries of mixing with the blood of Romans and Greeks, must have lost the full blackness of its original colour but retained the impress of its original mould."</span>
