I think the residency requirement is most important. Just like being dual-citizens many MHRs use the ability to live outside the Constituency they represent to escape the effects of their corrupt or ineffective representation. As to the PM, even he/she would be required to establish residence in the constituency he/she represents; the PM is also a Member of Parliament.

Why would you expect elected representstives to live in the two most dangerous places?
You think that they would not be subjected to the same midnight homew invasion by armed thugs?
Or are you suggesting that by living ther they would be able to miraclously change the -Financial status of the constituencies, and improve the security from maraduing gunmen??

There is some intellectual dishonesty implicit in this question. So I'll just say this: Portia Simpson Miller, for example, has 'represented' her constituency in Parliament since 1976 (with the exception of the period between 1983 and 1989). She was never just a back-bencher; as far back as the 1970s, she was a vice-president of the PNP, and has served in Cabinet from 1989 to 2006 when she assumed the positions of president of the PNP and Prime Minister. Up to 2007 when the PNP lost the general elections, she was MP for 25 years. Now what does that say about the quality of representation the people of that constituency had, given their condition, from such a high-profile politician?

But why should she give a damn about these people? She doesn't understand their lives, she doesn't live among them. At election time, she will just tell them how much Sista P loves them and how much she knows about what it means to be poor, but her behavior suggests she has contempt for them.

Empathy is a good reason for wanting to get the best representation for ones constituents. If you truly come from among them, the there is the higher likelihood that you will be moved of offer effective representation. Of course, she has contributed to the poverty inflicted on Jamaicans including her constituents. Thanks to the current the current constitutional arrangement, she doesn't have to live with those poor miserable people. And conveniently for her, she gets to live away from the conditions she has helped to create.

Ok, so I checked with the UWI Faculty of Social Sciences website and found out that social sciences courses - economics, political science, sociology, etc - were first taught at UWI Mona <span style="font-weight: bold">beginning in 1959</span>, and the Faculty of Social Sciences (under which the <span style="font-weight: bold">Dept of Sociology</span> would fall) was <span style="font-weight: bold">established in 1960</span>.

Then I see that Seaga graduated from Harvard in <span style="font-size: 17pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">1952</span></span>.

</div></div>Because Harvard has been exposed to use the supposedly study of sociology to support preconcieved ideas of racial inferiority of blacks.during that time up to the time when the Professor commit suicide and and put it in his suicide note. That is why the vaunted Bell Curve that the white supremacists are promoting was with drawn as a text for sociology. I also notice the distinct promotion of blacks more capable of doing hands in stuff while whites were more capable in abstract ideas. in all the graduates of Sociology. And this is so far from the reality. Sp the sociology I studied and the one they studied are not the same.
