This sistren is very reasonable. I like her videos...I also disagree with the Caribbean thing because it's not just the Caribbean alone...we have brad Pitt n Angelina Jolie. We also have so-called married couples so-called divorcing all the time. We pay more attention to labels than to reality

she made some good points tho, and the discussion under the video is quite interesting. her intellectual side came out more in this video, and brought out a lot of good quality feedback. </div></div>

so di good quality were the pros n the bad quality were the cons r wat...juss curious to use of 'good quality'...i is curious dat way </div></div>

by good quality i meant that posters took the time to present their opinion - for or against - in a thoughtful way. i'm partial to a good argument.

Obviously she took the criticism to heart or she would not have seen it fit to do a video response. Since I don't do FB (yes there a few of us who have not been assimilated...yet), I made it a point to read the comments section in the Observer and Gleaner. It was about 50% negative. She knows that, not to mention the snide comments on twitter. She obviously takes her celebrity status seriously since she claims she was a top 10 trending topic on twitter(Was she really?!! I find that hard to believe. Outside of Jamaica who knows Yendi or Chino?).

As I said already the uproar is in part a class/colour thing. If Yendi was an entertainer this would not be news. But she is perceived as this uptown browning, who crossed the class line. Note I say perceived since Chino likely lives above Clock Tower but as a dark skinned dread he is seen as roots. I think the video was a bad idea, almost like she is apologizing, which is why I respect Sindee who proudly declare that she do the deed with Bob wanting to get pregnant, knew that she was just one woman in his harem, but only regretted not knowing him sooner. She bucked the trend because she understood the fringe benefits - her offspring would be set for life and she taken care of(her family had supposedly fallen on hard times). It worked out well for her.

We're not dealing with some j'cans here... This my own thoughts...what is marriage anyway? Are u mesmerized by the word? The concept? At the end of the day it is a philosophy... Perhaps our staunch defense of the euro-American so-called Christian concept of the nuclear marriage (not saying there's something wrong with that; i just dont think it should be the only definition of the concept of marriage and everything else is primitive pathology) ---has also added to the problems of family and extended family life in J-a &amp; the afrikan diaspora. I don't see them staunchly defending any of our concepts of marriage and family. Even as they defend gay marriage. I think
Jamaican leaders must revamp the marriage concept/laws in order to strengthen the family and entire community.

I am opposed to all of this random baggy dropping and these out of wedlock pregnancies. I don't care WHO the father is. It's not fair to the children and it creates unstable family units.

...and for heaven's sake, please stop using the term breed when referring to human beings. I don't care if it's patois, it is far from positive and should be dropped from our vernacular.

Chino's father is a successful reggae artitst. I don't know where people are coming from with this class thing. If Yendi was an entertainer this would not be news. But she is perceived as this uptown browning, who crossed the class line.

Again this isn't true. He was not a multi-millionaire at the time. Also, you don't want to go there about Cindy. I met someone who was from the same town as Cindy's mother. He is good friend's with Cindy's Canadian cousin. Cindy and her brother were kicked out of the house by their mother because of their bad behaviour. No I won't elaborate. That's when they went and rented the cottage at Chris Blackwell's place on Hope Road. She was living there before Bob owned it.

Yes the appropriate way of doing things is to get married first and have children after that....does that surprise you?

Use any word you like but it definitely speaks volumes about your mentality and lack of respect for women when you do.
