The artists have to be mindful of the lyrics and the image they portray---especially when overseas as they willingly or not represent Jamaica in the eyes of people

Mugabe articulated his impressions but don't shoot the messenger. I can tell you that many people have that impression of Jamaican men thanks to our artistes.

so if he portrays an image that is in agreement with you that is fine ? But if he does not then it is an issue...

to be an artist takes in my opinion alot of hard graft.. sizzla longevity suggests that he has paid his dues.. that he found a market for his product that is fine. I have no problem with any Jamaican artist...

I dont agree with Sizzala morality, religion or dress sense.. I dont care if he takes drugs.. He is selling a product that adds positively to the Jamaican balance of payment.. It is a primary product, it is interlectually sophisticated.. value adding..

Culturally he is against the christian parasites that advocate a talibanisation of culture...That he is doing what Manley jnr called South south dialogue and he should be encouraged... not sure he would approve though.. But to me it is a beautiful that a Jamaican artist can interact succcesfully in Africa...

Give me a break. Usain Bolt is much present on the international scene as the &quot;face&quot; of Jamaican men. Michael Chin gets written up in Forbes as one of the richest men in the world.

Who outside of Jamaicans and dancehall aficianados ever heard of Ninja Man or Sizzla? Let's not give them more importance than they really have, talented though they may be.

I dont like any hip hop or dance hall I frankly think it is all noise pollution. altot of it subscribes to a morality that is frankly detestable . I dont care what they sing.. I wont stop them or advocate them stopping as long as I am not exposed to it... That is a personal prejudice on my part..

I simply Sizzla and other Jamaican singers as economic assets.Even if I detest their product. (Note I detest coca cola as well...)

What Sizzla has done is remarkable.. He has a fan base it seems in Zimbabwe.. It is a poor country and it is separated by the gulf of both culture and history.. real

Jamaicans males it seems cant win... It was a standing joke in the 90's on in Living colour that we worked too many jobs.. Now we getting a 70's tourist image that we are lazy ganja smokers...From a man who's curltural derectives are stuck in a earlier decade...

The second most famous Jamaican is reknown for his work rate a rumour spread by the most famous Jamaican... So who do u beleive ? Mugabe or Bolt ?

Do most Jamaicans smoke week. In my opnion no.. but a higher proportion do than most nations... and it is cross the board.. I dont see this as a bad thing.. We produce some serious fine grade cali... I know i did!

As a Jamaican male I have mostly Jamaican friends and we all share a work ethic.. Not simply a work ethic, other nations have work ethic the chinese for instance.. But Jamaican workers are far far more inteligent and adds value if we are paid a fair wage...

Farm workers are prefered I understand to be Jamaicans.. I rate farm workers because I wasnt qualified to be one in the 80's!

Are there lazy Jamaicans yes.. see the renta dreds.... lazy bums!

This has as much kudos cultural as a dance move made by the Sexi Rexi and his uptown dancers.. Sexi Rexi would describe the dance no doubt in ponderous in penetrable language verging on the melodious. (u would understand 3 words out of 7)

Let tuffy who is more of an expert on the Sessions and its evolution into dance halll tell of the moves. But there are moves that come and go faster than I buy my underwear.. compare our dances to latin music.. out of a nation of less than 3 million.. We are phenonally creative.. fun.. (and we are also brilliant at murder!)

Think of the dances that come out of the dance hall over the years ? Dont u see the cultural dynamics the sophisticated originality that this phenomena represents? Is there any nation that has created as many musical genres and discarded them over the last sixty years ??? and who are responsible.. no disrespect ladies.... Jamaican men... We Jamaican men are phenomenal.. (Except me, mi is a damn idiot, stupid, sell out unconsious, uncle tom, I was told so by a yanki...)

Don't jump off the deep end just yet...
It is not my opinion of them that matters but the opinions of the people of the countries they visit...
Yes I would have a problem if a Jamaican artist went somewhere and robbed, raped and killed some people then sang about how great it was;
I dont like mugabe's comments at all---they are extremely inappropriate for a head of state----but that does not mean we shouldn't look inwards as to why people keep styling Jamaica certain ways...or that we can not check our own behaviors...
And sizzla is not the problem here...I'm talking Jamaicans in general....
